The Thomson Elite seatpost is over 40% stronger on ultimate strength tests than any other seatposts on the market. It has double the fatigue life of other models. The seatpost is made from high strength 7000 series Aluminium, with the tube and head machined from one piece for superior strength and minimum weight. It is certified to meet the EN 14766 2006 MTB and DIN CERTCO: 2006 MTB standards. The seatpost is incredibly lightweight, weighing approximately 201g for road bikes and 228g for mountain bikes. The elliptical bore inside the tube provides an optimum strength-to-weight ratio. The seatpost features a long seat rail grip length of 1.614 inch (41mm) to prevent bending from impact loads. Unlike other seatposts, it has a grip length that is at least 0.5 inch longer. To prevent catastrophic failure, the seatpost has a bending fuse. Other seatposts tested failed catastrophically, with pieces flying off in all directions. The Thomson seatpost can withstand 350 foot-lbs of torque, while bending slightly under severe impact to allow for a safe stop or finish.The seatpost can be easily attached to a seat without disassembly as all parts are captive. It has infinite tilt adjustment ranging from minus 5° to plus 29°. The low profile clamps ensure no interference with the seat, as the swivel nuts are situated between the seat rails. Thomson's seatposts have undergone extensive life and strength tests to ensure they meet their high standards. The impact absorbing clamps on the seatpost spread and flex on impact to protect the seat, rails, and rider. The seats can withstand heavy impact loads without bending the rails.

The free service is put in place to make sure the bike you have purchased is running correctly and to adjust out any cable stretch that happens to any new bike.
The type of bike you have bought and the type of riding you have planned will affect how soon you need to book your free service.
However if you experience any issues at any time you should stop riding your bike and book your bike in for its free service immediately.
