Increase your cadence and reduce perceived effort with the premium Gravel - Road 110/5 oval chainrings by absoluteBLACK. Perfectly designed to improve your climbing ability. With these chainrings, Alpine climbs are made easier and you can ride anywhere with increased ease. absoluteBLACK is the only brand in the market offering these special super compact sizes that are compatible with a majority of 110/5bcd cranks. Experience improved cadence and efficiency with this product, which is compatible with 10/11/12spd.

Remarkably lightweight and robust, the chainrings are CNC machined with 7075 Txxx Aluminum and feature a Type II anodizing for longevity. The Ovality is optimised according to each size separately, with 32T at 8%, and 48T at 11.2%. It's timing of 108 -110.5° after TDC (top dead centre) makes it ideal for climbing.

The Absolute Black sub-compact Oval chainrings provide several advantages:

  • Improved climbing capabilities due to the unique special oval shape (Patent Pending).
  • Reduction of stress on the knees and longer lasting leg freshness.
  • Improved cadence while climbing.
  • No more struggling on long climbs and wishing for a bigger cassette.
  • Smooth pedalling experience.
  • Reduced chances of leg cramps.

Please note that due to their special offset construction and custom bolts, 32T can only work with 48T and the special bolt set 48/32 (bolts included with small ring). No other mix or combination of rings will work. For top performance and chainring longevity, it is recommended to use a new chain while fitting new chainrings.

Compatibility includes Shimano Dura-Ace 7950, Ultegra 6750, Shimano 105- 5750, Tiagra 4650, FSA, Praxis Alba & Zayante, S-works and many older cranks. It is also compatible with Sram cranks having 1 hidden chainring bolt like Force22 and Rival22 but they need to have a removable spider. The Chainrings are Di2 compatible as well. Due to the construction of SRAM Yaw front derailleurs, our Sub Compact chainrings are not compatible with them. If you replace your Yaw front derailleur with a Shimano equivalent there will be no indexing issues between Shimano FD and SRAM shift levers and you will be able to use our Sub Compact chainrings.
