THE PURPOSE
Enhance your cross-country ride with our XC Wide wheelset, engineered in collaboration with our top athletes and FEA modelled then impact tested at HUNT UK Headquarters. Designed to tackle the roughest and most technical XC terrain, with our unique front and rear-specific rim widths and profiles, paired with our proven hub technology.

The HUNT Engineering team uses our custom impact rig to test the XC Wide alongside leading competitors and our own wheelsets. The graph below shows the impact energy (J) recorded at the first sign of failure.

Rims | With front and rear-specific rim profiles (28mm front/26mmrRear internal width), our 6069-T6 rims are engineered for unmatched performance. The work-hardened, shot-peened matte black finish increases overall strength and durability. Tubeless compatible and shipped with pre-installed tubeless rim tape and valves for effortless setup.
Hubs | XC Wide uses our 5° RapidEngage freehub with a durable H_CERAMIK coating for unbeatable strength. Available in both boost and standard hub spacing, with large double-sealed cartridge bearings, XC Wide is designed to tackle seasons of cross-country challenges. Our hubs are customizable with our optional end caps to meet all standards. The CNC machined 6-bolt disc pattern offers versatility for your XC riding and racing needs.
Bearings | Precision-sealed replaceable cartridge bearings offer a seamless solution for maintenance and longevity. Designed with large diameter ball bearings, these units are engineered to withstand even the most rigorous conditions with dual full-contact rubber seals, ensuring maximum durability and reliability.
Spokes | 28 spoke count, triple butted (2.2-1.6-2.0) PSR reinforced head Pillar spokes
Tyres | Designed for new school XC tyres from 2.2-2.5in to offer ultimate traction, comfort and predictable braking.
Hand-built | All of our wheels are built and finished by hand, inclusive of a full quality control inspection.
Axles | Oversized 7075-T6 heat-treated aluminium alloy axles preserve rigidity for increased bearing life and durability.
